ABOUT US

Say Word Wednesdays is a monthly poetry show hosted every third Wednesday in Columbus, OH, exclusively for poets and poetry lovers. Curated and hosted by Jayaira Grhim-Harvey, also known as Artistic Genius—a visual artist, published author, and spoken-word poet with over 12 years of experience—the event celebrates creative expression in a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment. Held at a Black-owned and woman-owned art gallery owned by Ludie Senatus, the show provides a platform for local poets to showcase their talents, often for the first time, fostering meaningful connections and enriching the cultural fabric of Columbus. Rooted in the spirit of the phrase “Say Word,” commonly used to confirm, affirm, or agree, the event amplifies voices, nurtures creativity, and honors those who speak their truth and show up authentically in a world that challenges their resolve. Through curated events, Say Word Wednesdays inspires, connects, and celebrates a thriving poetry community, creating a welcoming space for artistic growth and appreciation.
